American School of Needlework asked some of their favorite quilt designers to use their favorite quilting techniques in quilts that could be given as gifts to the special people in our lives. The results are several wonderful quilts that showcase the talents of each designer.Anita Murphy shows how simple it can be to make two quilts in one with her Reversible Indian Hatchet quilt. Nancy Brenan Daniel utilizes her delectable mountains technique to create Rustic Mountains. Pat Yamin's Nosegay Bouquet may look difficult, but using acrylic templates with a rotary cutter makes cutting a breeze. Wendy Mathson and Faith Horsky share their love of quilting and easy techniques to create Simple Gifts and Hearts and Flowers. Sue Harvey, with Sunset Sentinel, shows that piecing tiny, irregular fabric shapes can be mastered using foundation piecing. Sue also desgned Lodge Weave using squares and half-square triangles. Sandra Hatch's Running Games is a bed-size quilt that can be completed quickly using half-square triangles and chain piecing. Rosie Gonzales shows her love of very easy techniques in Drunkard's Path in which cutting is done with large acrylic templates and piecing only requires one to three pins. Rosie also uses slashed squares to create Simple Triangles.
